Consultation – This fifty-nine year old female patient came to see Dr. Anton complaining of signs of facial aging, including sagging skin in the neck, jowls and cheek area, fine lines and wrinkles plus looking tired all the time. After an examination and consultation with Dr. Mark Anton in his Newport Beach plastic surgery office, it was determined that the patient was a great candidate for a face and necklift including FaceTite, upper and lower eyelid surgery and Fractora plus CO2 laser for skin resurfacing and collagen/elastin stimulation.
Surgery – On the morning of surgery, Dr. Anton met the patient in the pre-op room at Starpoint Health surgery center for skin marking. During surgery, Dr. Anton performed a Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) facelift procedure to lift and tighten the loose and sagging tissue of the patient’s lower face/neck, and mid-face. The SMAS is a thick, fibrous tissue that is excised and lifted to create a very natural looking facelift. Once Dr. Anton has lifted and sutured the SMAS into place, he then drapes and excises the excess skin before carefully suturing around and behind the ears for a minimal scar facelift result. FaceTite–a state-of-the art radio-frequency, minimally-invasive procedure that shrinks and tightens internal tissue–is incorporated into the facelift to help further correct visible signs of aging around the mouth, including deep lines and wrinkles.
Next, the excess skin is removed from the patient’s upper and lower eyelids to create a natural and more youthful—less-tired-looking appearance. Finally, the patient receives Fractora, an RF (radio frequency) microneedling procedure that improves skin textural irregularities, shrinks pore size, and stimulates collagen. Fractora was followed by a light CO2 laser peel resurfacing that further improves the tonal evenness, textural regularity and vibrancy of the patient’s skin. Laser resurfacing treatments provide an effective solution for restoring a youthful, healthy glow to dull, uneven and aged skin, through the employment of a mechanism that thoroughly exfoliates the epidermis and concomitantly stimulates cellular regeneration to support optimum skin renewal.
Post Op Recovery – The patient reported virtually no bruising and minimal swelling immediately following surgery. Sutures were removed after one week.
